OPPORTUNITIES
AO Flag logo
Advanced Opportunities : Flags on Accounts
If there’s a flag on your Advanced Opportunities account, you won’t be able to request funding for current dual credit or overload courses. Flags are placed when credit was not earned for a course previously funded by AO.

To resolve this, you must pay for and pass a similar course before you can receive further state funding. This can include IDLA overload or dual credit classes. After paying for and successfully completing the course, inform Ms. Bauer to request removal of the flag.

See your counselor for course options.

11th Grade To-Do Checklist
The High School to Career Process
Success begins with taking the first step. Not all careers require a 4-year degree, and the path after high school isn't always straight. Instead of starting with education, focus on your career goals and work backwards to explore the training and education needed. You might be surprised by the opportunities available!

Soft Skills
Employers seek candidates with both hard and soft skills. Hard skills are specific job-related abilities, like coding in HTML, taking patient vital signs, or conducting lab tests. Soft skills, on the other hand, are interpersonal qualities like communication, listening, empathy, and a strong work ethic—essential for working effectively in a team environment.

9th Grade To-Do Checklist
GPA - What Does it Mean
Your GPA is an important factor that colleges and employers use to assess your potential. Most schools use a four-point system, with a ‘4’ (or an A) being the goal. Plus and minus grades can impact your cumulative GPA, which affects your eligibility for colleges, scholarships, internships, and programs after high school. Keeping your grades up will open more doors for your future education and career opportunities.
