Are You Ready to Shine? 🌟

The Distinguished Young Women (DYW) Program is a national scholarship opportunity that inspires and empowers young women to achieve their full potential. Participants gain confidence, leadership skills, lifelong connections, and the chance to compete for college scholarships!
  • Orientation Date: December 16, 2024, at 7:00 PM (Location TBD)
  • Program Date: Saturday, March 15, 2025

💡 Mission: Empowering young women with scholarships and personal development opportunities to become confident leaders.


Since the program began in Kuna 12 years ago, we've had 162 participants and awarded an incredible $176,400 in scholarships—including last year alone! Join us and be part of this amazing tradition!

Join us at the KHS Varsity Boys Basketball game as we celebrate our amazing Kuna High alumni and honor the legacy of Matthew Scanlon through the Matthew Scanlon Memorial Scholarships. Proceeds from the event will support two scholarships awarded to KHS graduating seniors in Matthew's memory.

Juniors: Scholarship Opportunities!
We are excited to share that the Horatio Alger Association scholarship application for high school juniors is NOW OPEN! 

600+ scholarships available, up to $25,000 each!

The Horatio Alger Association is seeking students that display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity, and plan to pursue higher education.  Students must have financial need and a determination to turn their adversity into opportunity and pursue their American Dream.

APPLICATION DATES:
DECEMBER 1, 2024 - MARCH 1, 2025

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
  • Be enrolled full time as a high school junior in the United States
  • Exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a bachelor’s degree at an accredited non-profit public or private institution in the United States (students may start their studies at a two-year institution and then transfer to a four-year institution)
  • Demonstrate financial need ($65,000 or lower household income)
  • Be involved in co-curricular and community service activities
  • Display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity
  • Maintain a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0; and
  • Be a United States citizen

The College of Engineering’s Micron Student Success Center is thrilled to announce the 18th Annual Engineering & Science Festival on February 22, 2025, at Boise State University!

Save the Date: February 22, 2025
Location: Boise State University
Time: 10 am – 3 pm

Boise State faculty, staff, and community partners will lead interactive presentations, hands-on activities, and exciting demonstrations throughout campus. This is a fantastic opportunity to engage with science and engineering in a fun, inspiring environment.

*This is not a Kuna High School-sponsored activity, and students will be responsible for their own transportation to and from the event.

Idaho LAUNCH
Idaho LAUNCH Grant Updates
The first round of Idaho LAUNCH grants closed on November 30, 2024, and the Idaho LAUNCH team will send Contingent Offers to selected students by December 31, 2024.

🗓️ Deadline to Accept:
Students receiving a Contingent Offer must accept by January 15, 2025. Be sure to check your email—if you don’t accept by the deadline, the funds will go to another applicant.

💡 Still Interested?
If you missed the first round, it’s not too late! You can still apply, and a second round of offers will be released in the spring.

Eligibility Checklist
To be eligible for Idaho LAUNCH funding, make sure you:
  1. Complete the Idaho LAUNCH Grant application in Scholarship Idaho.
  2. Finish the Idaho LAUNCH Career Portfolio in Next Steps Idaho.
