Matthew Scanlon Memorial Scholarship
|
This scholarship fund was created in memory of Matthew Scanlon, Kuna High School student, class of 2017. When you met Matthew Scanlon you couldn’t help but feel happy; his smile and positive attitude were infectious. Matthew was loved by all who knew him. Matthew loved basketball and was a member of the KHS basketball team. He loved to hike and mountain bike. But more than anything, Matthew loved his family and his friends.
In establishing this scholarship, Matthew’s family and friends wish to recognize the dedication of two active and involved Kuna High School students who have chosen to continue their education after high school.
ELIGIBILITY: Applicants to the Matthew Scanlon Memorial Scholarship must:
- Be graduating from Kuna High School in the 2023/2024 school year
- Have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
- Participated in a sport while in high school
- Demonstrate #ScanlonStrong characteristics: responsibility, self discipline, sportsmanship, teamwork, strong work ethic, integrity, personal sacrifice for the good of others
- Plan to attend an institution of higher learning, which may be a 2-year or 4-year college or technical training program.
DEADLINE: March 3 by 3:00 pm
AWARD AMOUNT: Two (2) $2000 will be awarded
*This scholarship is funded through the generosity of a private benefactor, supplemented by fundraising initiatives.

Mark your calendars for February 26, 2025! This exciting event is designed for 5th-12th grade students and their parents to explore over 100 opportunities, including colleges, universities, trade schools, armed forces, local employers, and businesses.

600+ scholarships available, up to $25,000 each!
The Horatio Alger Association is seeking students that display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity, and plan to pursue higher education. Students must have financial need and a determination to turn their adversity into opportunity and pursue their American Dream.

- Be enrolled full time as a high school junior in the United States
- Exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a bachelor’s degree at an accredited non-profit public or private institution in the United States (students may start their studies at a two-year institution and then transfer to a four-year institution)
- Demonstrate financial need ($65,000 or lower household income)
- Be involved in co-curricular and community service activities
- Display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity
- Maintain a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0; and
- Be a United States citizen

The College of Engineering’s Micron Student Success Center is thrilled to announce the 18th Annual Engineering & Science Festival on February 22, 2025, at Boise State University!
Save the Date: February 22, 2025
Location: Boise State University
Time: 10 am – 3 pm
Boise State faculty, staff, and community partners will lead interactive presentations, hands-on activities, and exciting demonstrations throughout campus. This is a fantastic opportunity to engage with science and engineering in a fun, inspiring environment.
*This is not a Kuna High School-sponsored activity, and students will be responsible for their own transportation to and from the event.

ISBA Scholarship Trust Application: The ISBA Scholarship Trust offers scholarships to children and grandchildren of Idaho School Board members who are currently serving or have served (at least 3 years) on an Idaho Public School Board. ISBA Student Photography Contest: ISBA is hosting a Student Photography Contest for students (K-12) of ISBA member districts and charters. This year's contest theme is “SMALL ACTS, BIG IMPACT". We are asking students to photograph moments of kindness, teamwork, or cooperation, showing how small contributions in schools and communities make our communities stronger. Idaho LAUNCH Grant Updates

The first round of contingent offers has been sent! To secure funding, you must accept your offer by Friday, January 24, 2025.
Remember, accepting now doesn't commit you permanently—you can always decline later. But if you miss the deadline, you lose the opportunity for funding.
How to Accept Your Contingent Offer:

Check your email or log into your Scholarship Idaho account.
- Click the “Red Action Required” button at the top of your account.
- Agree to the terms of the contingent offer and click “Accept.”
Come to the Career Center if you need help accepting your offer.

Idaho Power Company Scholarships
|
The online application process for the 2025–2026 academic year opens January 1. Applications can be accessed beginning January 1, 2025, using the links provided in this letter or from Idaho Power’s website (scroll down to the Scholarships section). Students must complete the online application, and upload transcripts and reference letters online. Hard-copy applications received in the mail will not be accepted.
Fourteen $2,500 scholarships are available for graduating high school seniors who live in Idaho Power's service area and plan to enroll full-time in a science, technology, engineering, mathematics, business, or communications program at an accredited Idaho or Oregon two- or four-year college or university. Applicants must have a cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.75.
Two $1,000 scholarships are available to Idaho residents who are graduating high school and plan to enroll in an engineering program at an accredited Idaho college, or college students of any level enrolling in a natural resources program at an accredited Idaho college.
Two $2,500 scholarships are available to support students who live in Idaho Power's service area and plan to enroll in an accredited Idaho technical school program to learn a skilled trade (e.g., linework, electric power, mechanical, welding, applied technology, etc.). Applicants must have a minimum 2.75 GPA or a GED certificate.
All applications are due March 1.
The selection process will be completed in April 2025. All applicants will be notified by mail of the selection committee’s decision.
