Graduation Year: 2010
Current Role: Electronic Missile Maintenance Warrant Officer, US Army
After graduating in 2010, Erick chose a path of service, enlisting in the US Army in 2009. His journey has been defined by continuous growth, leading him to his current high-level technical role as a Warrant Officer. Along the way, he utilized military tuition assistance to earn a Bachelors in Communications and obtained specialized technical credentials, including FCC, ETA, and BEE certifications.
For Erick, the military was never a "last resort." Instead, it was a gateway to specialized training and a fulfilling career. His work directly impacts the operational readiness and combat effectiveness of US ground forces. Erick said,
"Military service is not something to be viewed as 'I didn’t have any other choice.' It is fulfilling and opens many doors to further education and specialized training that is highly sought after in the civilian market."
Erick acknowledges that while the path can be "extremely taxing," the sense of fulfillment and the lifelong bonds created make it worth it. To this day, he remains close with friends he met over 16 years ago.
Erick credits his time at Kuna High for helping forge his character. He specifically notes that the teachers he had along the way played a pivotal role in who he is today, and he still makes an effort to visit them whenever he returns home. The foundation of general mechanics, work ethic, and determination he built in high school has served him throughout his military career.
Fast Facts
-
Values: Loyalty and duty to the community.
-
Hobbies: When he isn't maintaining missile systems, you’ll find Erick fishing, camping, golfing, or spending quality time with his family.
-
Favorite Quote: “Summum nec metuam diem nec optum” (May I neither dread nor desire the last day).
