CAST Event tomorrow

CAST, our student leadership, is organizing a fun event for students tomorrow.

This Friday 8/21 our Kuna High School CAST is hosting a "Back to School Bash". This event will take place after our Welcome Back assembly at lunch, on the blacktop outside of the gymnasium. This is a place where students can get food, mingle, enjoy music, and start the school year off with a bang!

We hope to share this event to Connect All Students Together and get the student body excited for all events to come this school year!

KHS Construction Update

Kuna High School Construction & Facility Update
Thank you to our students, families, and staff for your ongoing support as we finalize our facility projects. Here is the latest progress report for Kuna High School:
  • Fire Safety & Monitoring: All fire alarm systems are fully operational. We are still awaiting our final state inspection, and designated personnel continue to physically monitor the building during school hours per the City Fire Marshal's guidance.
  • Air Conditioning: Most AC units are now up and running! Our contractor has been working night shifts to complete programming across the building, and we are currently waiting on final official sign-off and working on a few last programing of HVAC systems.
  • Vestibules: Completion is delayed while we wait for the correct glass for the doors to arrive. Our project manager, Beniton Construction, created a creative temporary solution so all vestibule doors remain safe, functional, and fully usable until the permanent glass can be installed.

Thank you for your ongoing support as we wrap up these final facility improvements!

New Drop Off and Pick Traffic Patterns

IMPORTANT: New Drop-Off and Pick-Up Traffic Patterns for the 2026-2027 School Year
Dear Kuna High School Parents and Guardians:

Thank you for going through our new drop-off and pick-up today. We will be making some adjustments to parent pick-up. Look for drop-off area signs at parent pick-up in the front of the school. Having this area will help with the flow. This area will be down towards the gym. Please drop off only in this area.

Parent Drop-Off & Pick-Up Zone

  • Location: East (Faculty) parking lot.
  • Details: All parents driving their students to and from school must use the East Faculty Lot. Please drop off and pick up students along the curb towards the gym. For everyone's safety, only allow students to exit or enter your vehicle when fully stopped alongside the curb.

Special Education Busing

  • Location: West (Student) parking lot.
  • Details: To provide a safe and accessible environment for our students requiring specialized transportation, all Special Education buses will load and unload exclusively in the West Student Lot. Parents should not use this lot for regular drop-offs or pick-ups.

Standard Busing (All Other School Buses)

  • Location: Porter Street.
  • Details: All standard school bus routes will continue to drop off and pick up students along Porter Street before and after school.

Shuttles (Transfers)

  • Morning and after school bus shuttles (transfers) to and from Swan Falls High School: Pick up and drop off before and after school will be along Porter St.
  • Bus shuttles (transfers) at lunch time will be in the West (student) lot.

Tips for a Smooth Commute

  • Pack your patience: Traffic is always heaviest during the first week of school. Please plan for an extra 10–15 minutes as everyone adjusts to the new patterns.
  • Stay alert: Please watch for pedestrians, keep speeds low in all campus zones, and avoid distracted driving or phone use in the parking lots.
  • Follow staff directions: School staff will be out assisting with traffic flow during the first few weeks. Please follow their signals to ensure safety for everyone.

Thank you for your cooperation and partnership in keeping Kuna High School safe and efficient for our students!

Sincerely,

Kuna High School Administration
