KHS/SFHS Weekly Newsletter Aug 28-Sept 3

Posted Date: 08/27/26 (05:00 PM)

Kuna High School & Swan Falls High School Newsletter, August 28-September 3, 2026.

Note from the Principal

Dear KHS & SFHS Families,

The school year is moving full speed ahead, and the energy across our campuses is fantastic!

Fall sports and clubs are in full swing. Volleyball, soccer, freshman football, and cross-country have already kicked off their seasons strong, and this Friday marks our very first home varsity football game vs Sandpoint.

This weekend is also your last chance to head out to the fair to support our FFA students and check out their ice cream booth.

On the academic side, please remember to log in to Schoology to review your student's updated grades and stay on top of their progress.

Important Reminder: Picture Retakes & Student IDs
Picture retake day will be on September 3rd. This is for any student who missed picture day, wants a retake, or still needs to pick up their official student ID.

Thank you for your ongoing partnership as our students dive into these activities and as we wrap up our final facility projects. Further athletic schedules and our detailed building report are included below in this newsletter.

Sincerely,

Mr. Reno
Principal, KHS / SFHS

KHS Construction Update

Thank you for your ongoing patience and support as we finalize our facility improvements. Here is the latest progress report for Kuna High School:
  • Fire Safety & Monitoring: All fire alarm systems are fully operational. Final system testing takes place this Saturday to prepare for final state sign-off. Personnel continue to physically monitor the building during school hours per the City Fire Marshal’s guidance.
  • Air Conditioning: Most AC units across the building are up and running smoothly. Contractors are conducting a final system check this weekend to ensure all units are fully programmed and performing properly.
  • Vestibules: Finishing touches are wrapping up, and we are currently awaiting final inspection and official sign-off. All entry doors remain safe and fully functional for daily use.

Please Check E-bikes for Legal Compliance

Parent Action Needed: If your child rides an electric-powered device to school, please verify that it has manufacturer-installed operable pedals and a motor rated under 750 watts.

As the new school year begins, our school resource officers ask all parents to review Idaho's e-bike laws with their students before allowing them to ride to school. Many of the electric motorcycles and high-powered "e-bikes" being sold today do not meet Idaho's legal definition of an electric-assisted bicycle.

Students should not ride or bring any electric-powered bicycle, scooter, motorcycle, or similar vehicle to school unless it complies with Idaho law.

Vehicles that exceed Idaho's e-bike limits may be considered motor vehicles and are subject to different legal requirements such as driver’s licensing, registration, and insurance. Thank you for helping us keep our campus safe for everyone.

➡️More information can be found on our website: https://www.kunaschools.org/ebikes

StudentSquare App Download

Parents
We are asking students to download and log in to StudentSquare, the student-focused companion to ParentSquare. StudentSquare provides a safe, secure platform for students and staff to communicate directly about daily campus life at Kuna High School.
Using StudentSquare ensures students and staff can communicate effectively without ever having to exchange personal cell phone numbers. This direct line of communication is especially essential for off-campus activities, such as sports, field trips, and Career Technical Education (CTE) events. Additionally, Idaho law requires staff to use district-provided communication tools rather than personal cell phones, ensuring all school-related interactions remain safe, professional, and transparent.
Social Media Alternative - We also recognize that many families choose not to allow their students to have social media accounts. StudentSquare ensures that all students receive information about activities and happenings directly from the school, so no student is forced to create a social media account to stay informed and connected.
What Information Goes Through StudentSquare?
  • KHS Classes: Direct updates, reminders, and news from teachers.
  • Clubs & Activities: Meeting times, event details, and group announcements.
  • Athletics & Off-Campus Events: Practice schedules, game updates, field trip logistics, and CTE communications.
How Students Get Started
  • Download: Get the free StudentSquare app from the iOS App Store or Google Play Store (or access it via web browser).
  • Sign In: Log in using their official school email credentials.
How Parents Can See Student Activity You don't need to create a StudentSquare account or log in as your student to see what they are receiving. ParentSquare automatically mirrors StudentSquare, giving parents full visibility into every message and post their student receives:
  • Log into ParentSquare: Select your student’s name at the top of your app or web dashboard.
  • View Activity: Easily view all posts, club updates, athletic announcements, and direct messages sent to or from your student in real time.
Thank you for encouraging your students to check StudentSquare regularly so they stay safe, informed, and fully connected with everything happening at KHS!
